This Friday: Performance Art

I will be performing Washwoman’s Blues once again. This Friday at the 11th Ave Gallery at nine sharp. For all of you that showed up a hair too late last time, the parking situation is a bit tricky so leave plenty of space to figure it all out. If you wear white, get ready to be washed. Bubbles galore, I promise.

Eve + Bowie

Eve + Bowie are artists who have collaborated for shows in New York City and Providence, RI. Bowie Zunino is pursuing an MFA in sculpture at Rhode Island School of Design and Eve Biddle lives and works in New York City. Through conversation and private thought they engage viewers to question and expand their perceptions with the firm belief that challenging the way people think can bring about social awareness and change. Additional projects can be viewed at www.bowiezunino.com and www.evebiddle.com.

I was happy to meet up with these movers and shakers at “The Last Supper” festival. Here is their latest work: Handmade candy, cast sugar resembling medical supplies.

Sarah Walko

I had the pleasure of attending an indoor/outdoor film, food, music and art festival September 20th while I was visiting New York. The festival was called “The Last Supper” and was held at 3rd Ward in Brooklyn.

One of the artists showing there was Sarah Walko. Her installation was fascinating. Moss, beta fish and robots adorned a wall… pictures here:

WWB Recap

Washwoman’s Blues went off without a hitch last Friday. I am planning on doing the piece at least one more time at 11th Ave Gallery. At the moment it is slated for the the evening of September 26th—mark your calendars. I was honored that Reverend Deadeye made a cameo up there with me. He strummed a few along with the late, great Bessie Smith song which, this piece was named for. I want to thank everyone for their support and attendance as well as 11th Ave for having me.
